May is Tumblr Filmmaker Month on PBS New York
PBS THIRTEEN is presenting short films by Tumblr filmmakers all month. Three shorts are presented on ThirteenNY.tumblr.com each week and your votes decide which films will air on TV. New shorts appear each Saturday night and online voting for week 3 is underway.
Congrats to this week’s filmmakers, Christina Lu, Jason Mitcham + The Avett Brothers, and Rich Landes!

We <3 Tumblr
Every now and again we find some Tumblr fan art that’s too cool not to share. We’ve been cataloging them on weheart.tumblr.com and, in honor of the new Submission feature, are taking your submissions!

Follow Tumblr on Twitter!
That was weird.

Our friend Gary Vaynerchuk of Wine Library TV just made Tumblr his new home! Check out the sick custom theme by Jacob.
Gary’s streaming live on his blog, so go check him out if you don’t know what he’s about.

In honor of Patrick Moberg’s brilliant illustration on election night. An hour-by-hour breakdown of the most reblogged post on Tumblr. (by Jacob Bijani)

Reblogged from Sam Reich:
Patrick Cassels is hilarious and full of anecdotes. It just didn’t make sense that he didn’t have Tumblr. We pled with him. We reasoned. Jake even organized a petition. But nothing worked.
Today we held an intervention. I organized, Ricky hosted, Jake, Sarah and Amanda wrote letters, and Amir and Blake shot it.
Ladies and gentlemen: patrickcassels.tumblr.com.
As if we didn’t have enough reasons to love the folks at Connected Ventures :)

Yesterday, Amit Gupta had a great suggestion to include thumbnails on Video posts in the Dashboard:
I love Tumblr, but I almost never watch the videos people post. But I click on photos to see the bigger version all the time.
Video posts could really use a still frame to give you a peek at what’s inside.
Anyone else feel this way?
We were already doing this with videos uploaded to Tumblr. Now we’ll also show thumbnails next to YouTube videos.
Thanks, Amit!
